Álvaro Arbeloa is reportedly preparing a bold tactical approach as Real Madrid aim to overturn a 2–1 deficit against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.
According to Miguel Ángel Díaz on El Partidazo de COPE, Arbeloa is already shaping his game plan, with key personnel decisions beginning to take form ahead of the decisive clash.
“Eduardo Camavinga was tested the other day against Girona FC and failed, and it seems that Federico Valverde will play in central midfield in Munich,” Díaz initially stated.
With Aurélien Tchouaméni suspended after receiving a yellow card in the first leg, Real Madrid are forced to make changes in midfield. Camavinga was initially tried in a deeper role, but ultimately was not convincing enough in recent assessments.
Jude Bellingham is expected to be a guaranteed starter, forming a key pillar of the midfield structure for the high-stakes clash in Munich.
In attack, the tactical focus is mainly centered on Vinícius Júnior, with Los Blancos planning to exploit the space behind Bayern’s defense through quick transitions.
Miguel Ángel Díaz revealed the tactical intention: “Arbeloa wants quick balls played behind the defense.”
The overall message from the Madrid camp reflects an all-or-nothing mentality ahead of the second leg, with the team encouraged to take risks and apply aggressive pressure from the start.
