Bruno Fernandes has publicly voiced his support for Cristiano Ronaldo at a time when the situation within the Portugal national team has attracted considerable attention.
The Portuguese midfielder revealed that he had spoken with Ronaldo, stressing that the legendary forward continues to have a special role within the national team and in the country as a whole.
“I spoke with Cristiano and told him that he is, and will always remain, the greatest icon of our national team and our country. He will always be the greatest for us,” Fernandes said.
Fernandes also denied claims that the Portugal national team is divided, emphasizing that any issues should be resolved within the squad.
“Our national team is united, not divided. That is important. Any issues need to be resolved within the group and should ultimately work out well for both sides,” he stated.
Fernandes added that Ronaldo has an undisputed place in Portugal’s history and in the hearts of the country’s fans.
“Without a doubt, he has a place reserved not only among the greatest players of all time, but also in the hearts of all Portuguese people. That will always remain, forever,” Fernandes said.
