Michael Olise continues to amaze the football world with his performances on the pitch, but away from it, he remains completely different from most modern football stars. The French forward, who is constantly being linked with a move to Real Madrid, prefers to stay away from excessive media attention and the luxurious lifestyle that often accompanies elite footballers.
After France’s victory over Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Olise passed through the interview area almost unnoticed. Dressed in a tracksuit, hoodie, and backpack, he maintained his usual reserved profile, far from the superstar image he displays on the field.
France coach Didier Deschamps praised the player’s remarkable development, emphasizing that football remains his main focus.
“Michael has had a fantastic season. He is among the best players in the world, but media attention is not what motivates him. The only thing that matters to him is what happens on the pitch,” Deschamps said.

Real Madrid Closely Monitoring Him
Real Madrid’s interest in the 24-year-old is well known, but Olise has given no public indication about his future. Unlike players such as Kylian Mbappé or Vinícius Júnior, he does not seek to build a major commercial image outside football.
French legend Thierry Henry, who coached him with France’s Olympic team, described Olise as a person with a unique character.
“People see his talent on the pitch, but sometimes find it difficult to understand him off it. In reality, he is a fantastic young man and a very good person,” Henry said.
No Sponsors and Far from Marketing
One of the qualities that sets Olise apart from most elite footballers is his refusal to sign endorsement deals with major sports brands.
The Frenchman does not have a sponsorship contract with any well-known company and prefers to choose his own equipment.
He even continues to wear football boots that were released more than a decade ago, avoiding the modern trends of sports marketing.
A Unique Story
Olise has a rich multicultural background. He holds French, English, Algerian, and Nigerian citizenship. Although he had the opportunity to represent England internationally, he chose France, a decision strongly influenced by his family and the French Football Federation.
His entire career was built in England, where he spent time in the academies of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City before joining Reading and later breaking through with Crystal Palace.
Today, following an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, Olise is considered one of the most talented footballers of his generation. If he is a “Galáctico” on the pitch, off it he remains a humble person who prefers to let his football do the talking.
