The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) presented Pep Guardiola with an offer earlier this week, but the former Manchester City manager has decided not to accept the role.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Guardiola has turned down the opportunity to become the next head coach of the Italian national team.
The Spanish coach wants to spend time with his family, recharge, and take a break from football before considering his next career move.
“Pep Guardiola has said no to the Italian national team head coach job offered by the Federation. Guardiola considered the proposal this week, but he wants to dedicate time to his family, recover his energy, and return to football later,” Romano wrote.
Guardiola stepped down as Manchester City manager after 10 years at the club, during which he won numerous major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
He is now expected to take some time away from management before making his return to football in the future.
