Zubimendi Set to Leave Arsenal as European Giants Show Interest

Martin Zubimendi could leave Arsenal during the January transfer window, as he is reportedly unhappy with his role at the London club and wants more playing time.

According to TEAMtalk, the Spanish midfielder’s situation has attracted the attention of seven major European clubs, who have already been informed about the possibility of signing him.

Among the interested clubs are Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, who could attempt to bring the 27-year-old back to Spanish football.

The two German giants, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, have also been informed about Zubimendi’s situation, while Chelsea and Liverpool have expressed interest from the Premier League.

However, Liverpool’s interest is considered less likely to materialise, as the club’s monitoring of the midfielder began under its previous management structure.

Arsenal signed Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in 2025 for a reported fee of around £60 million. However, in the current campaign, he has yet to make a single start in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s hierarchy are reportedly aware of the player’s desire to leave and would not stand in the way of a potential January transfer.

A loan move is seen as one possible solution to the situation, although the potential terms of such an agreement have yet to be determined.

So far, Zubimendi has made 67 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal.
