Real Madrid Pull Out of Alvarez Race, Barcelona Left as the Sole Contender

Real Madrid have officially withdrawn from the race to sign Julian Alvarez after Atletico Madrid rejected a €150 million offer.

With attacking stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Endrick already in the squad, the Spanish giants have decided not to engage in what they see as an impossible financial battle.

Real Madrid’s withdrawal leaves Barcelona as the only major contender for the Argentine striker, whom the Catalan club views as the ideal long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.

However, completing the transfer remains extremely difficult. Atletico Madrid have no intention of selling one of their biggest stars to a direct rival. The 26-year-old is under contract until 2030 and has a €500 million release clause. His current market value is not expected to fall below €130–150 million.
