Kvaratskhelia Undergoes Surgery After ACL Rupture

Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has successfully undergone surgery in Doha, Qatar, after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

The French club announced on Tuesday that the Georgian footballer will now begin his rehabilitation process.

Kvaratskhelia sustained the injury during PSG’s victory over Barcelona in last week’s Champions League match. He twisted his right knee and was forced to leave the pitch with the assistance of medical staff shortly before the 60th minute.

Anterior cruciate ligament injuries typically require at least six months of recovery. As a result, the 25-year-old could be sidelined for an extended period, although the exact timeline for his return has not yet been announced.

The injury occurred just one day after Kvaratskhelia finished sixth in the voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
