Lamine Yamal continues to amaze the football world. The Barcelona star was one of the key figures in the 4-1 victory over Galatasaray in the Champions League, providing two assists within just three minutes at the start of the second half.
The Spanish youngster’s performance in Istanbul also left French legend Thierry Henry amazed, as he praised the achievements Yamal has already made in his career.
Speaking in an interview with CBS, Henry asked Yamal how he managed to execute an unusual dribbling move that allowed him to get past a Galatasaray defender and create space for a decisive pass to Anthony Gordon.
Yamal Reveals the Secret Behind His Special Dribbling Move
The Barcelona forward explained that the move was no coincidence, but rather the result of observing how defenders try to stop him.
“Recently, I’ve noticed that defenders often throw themselves to the ground when I get close to the byline. That made me think about trying a different move to get past my opponent,” Yamal explained.
He revealed that he saw it as a good opportunity to surprise the defender and decided to give it a try. The move worked perfectly, creating the space he needed to deliver the pass that led to Gordon’s goal.
“I always try to use dribbles and feints to create space and get past defenders,” the Spanish star added.
After the match, Yamal described his move as something similar to a rabona, stressing that the most important thing was that the play ended with a decisive pass.
