Yamal Closes in on Mbappe’s Champions League Record

Lamine Yamal continues to make history in the UEFA Champions League, breaking records at an incredibly young age.

The Barcelona wonderkid is proving that he has what it takes to compete with the biggest names in European football, with one of his targets being a record set by Kylian Mbappe.

Yamal has scored 12 goals in the Champions League before turning 19, surpassing Mbappe’s tally at the same age, according to the statistics cited in the report.

However, the French forward, who plays for Real Madrid, remains a benchmark for young players aspiring to make their mark on Europe’s biggest club competition. Mbappe had scored 13 Champions League goals before turning 20, a milestone that is now firmly within Yamal’s sights.

The Barcelona star has continued to contribute with both goals and assists in the competition. Following his performance against Feyenoord in Barcelona’s opening league-phase match of the season, Yamal had recorded 12 goals and 11 assists in 34 Champions League appearances.

Considering his age and growing influence on Barcelona’s play, Yamal has every opportunity to improve his statistics further and establish new benchmarks in European football.

Mbappe’s record remains an important target, but the outstanding form of the Spanish sensation is making the race between the two stars even more exciting.
