Barcelona have no reason to be alarmed over the condition of goalkeeper Joan Garcia, as the latest reports indicate that his injury does not appear to be serious.
According to Diario Sport, the Spanish goalkeeper felt discomfort in his knee during the emphatic 7-2 victory over Racing Santander and was replaced at half-time by Wojciech Szczesny.
The substitution was made mainly as a precaution, as manager Hansi Flick did not want to take any further risks with Garcia’s physical condition.
It is reported that the knee discomfort may have been caused by the goalkeeper slipping on the wet pitch during the match.
Garcia is expected to undergo further medical examinations to determine the exact extent of his condition.
It now remains to be seen whether the goalkeeper will be fit for this weekend’s match against Sevilla.
