Mohamed Salah continues to make history even after leaving Liverpool, making an impressive start to his adventure with Trabzonspor in Turkey.
After nine historic years at Anfield, the Liverpool legend left the club by mutual agreement at the end of the 2025/26 season before signing a two-year contract with Trabzonspor.
Just a few weeks after arriving in Turkey, the Egyptian has already started breaking records.
Salah Sets Turkish Super Lig Record
Although Trabzonspor have not made the ideal start to the 2026/27 season, Salah has excelled individually.
The Turkish side suffered a surprise elimination from the Europa League against Ferencvaros, while Salah has also had to adapt to yet another managerial change.
Nevertheless, that has not stopped the 34-year-old from continuing to score.
Before the match against Genclerbirligi, Salah had scored three goals in his first league appearances.
In the convincing 5-0 victory over Genclerbirligi, he added another goal and an assist, setting a new record.
Salah became the first foreign Trabzonspor player to score four goals in his first three starts in the Turkish Super Lig since Opta began recording data in the 2000/01 season.
A Special Week Off the Pitch Too
The record came just days after Salah and his wife, Magi, welcomed a baby boy.
He is the couple’s third child.
The Egyptian’s impressive form has helped Trabzonspor collect two wins, one draw and one defeat from their opening four league matches.
The team currently sit fourth in the table, with important fixtures against Galatasaray and Besiktas coming up in the weeks ahead.
Another Chapter Could Be Written in Europe
Salah is also expected to make his debut in the Conference League next month, adding another European competition to his long and distinguished career.

In an interview with Trabzonspor media, Salah spoke about the possibility of facing his former club one day.
“I would have mixed emotions,” Salah said.
“I spent nine years there. I love the city, I love the fans, and we have always had a special relationship, so it would be very difficult.”
Salah left Liverpool as one of the biggest figures of the club’s modern era, meaning a Champions League clash against his former side would carry special significance for him.
Trabzonspor Aim to Return Among Europe’s Elite
For now, the Turkish club’s objective remains to build a successful season and challenge for the positions that lead to the Champions League.
A return to Europe’s elite competition would be a major achievement for Trabzonspor, who have not participated in the main phase of the Champions League since the 2011/12 season.
For Salah, meanwhile, his adventure in Turkey has started in the best possible way.
