With just a few days remaining before the start of the new football season, Newcastle United have been left without a head coach.
According to the BBC, Eddie Howe will leave the Premier League club with immediate effect.
Howe came under heavy pressure last season after Newcastle finished in a disappointing 12th place in the league standings.
The 48-year-old’s final match in charge was Wednesday’s 4-1 pre-season defeat to Bristol City.
In recent years, Newcastle United have seen several key players depart, including during this summer’s transfer window. Among the most notable exits was Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, who completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
