According to SPORT, the Catalan club believes Atlético’s financial situation could force them to sell a marquee player, as they need to generate more than €80 million in player sales to balance their books.
Barcelona’s plan is to submit an improved offer that could reach €130 million, hoping that such a figure will persuade Atlético to come to the negotiating table. However, the Madrid club continues to view the Argentine forward as a key part of its long-term project and has no intention of letting him leave easily.
Meanwhile, Julián Álvarez still sees Barcelona as his preferred destination. The Blaugrana hierarchy believes the player’s desire to wear the Barça shirt could prove to be the decisive factor in unlocking the deal once the FIFA World Cup comes to an end.
