Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has made major promises to Madridistas ahead of the club’s presidential elections on June 7.
The Spanish businessman stated that, if he defeats Florentino Pérez in the race, his top priority will be signing Manchester City midfielder Rodri, whom he considers one of the best players in the world. Riquelme has publicly declared that “a player like Rodri will play for Real Madrid if I become president.”
But his ambitions do not stop there. During his campaign, Riquelme has also promised to bring some of the biggest names in world football to the club, hinting that he is working on a number of galáctico-style signings. Most recently, he mentioned Norwegian striker Erling Haaland as one of the key targets of his sporting project.
The Real Madrid presidential elections have attracted extraordinary attention, as for the first time in many years, Florentino Pérez is facing a serious challenger. Riquelme is trying to convince club members that he can usher in a new era at the Santiago Bernabéu, filled with superstars and major investment in the squad.
