French forward Kylian Mbappé spoke to the Spanish edition of GQ about his football journey, his current situation at Real Madrid, and the challenges of top-level football.
Mbappé reflected on his sporting situation, as well as on less visible aspects such as mental strength, leadership, and the impact of a congested calendar on players.
When asked what it means to him to be a Real Madrid player, Mbappé was direct.
“For me, it’s like a gift from God. To have the opportunity to live my passion, to play the biggest matches, to be at the best club in the world,” Mbappé initially said.
“I am always extremely grateful to be on the pitch, to wake up every morning and do what makes me happy.”
He also spoke highly of Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and Spain.
“I love being on the pitch and feeling like I’m playing at the best stadium in the world, in a country that, in terms of football, is one of the best in the world,” the Frenchman concluded.
